Buying from ClayShop

Terms of sale

The plain-English rules for buying a piece from this shop: who you buy from, what it costs to send, how to pay, and how to change your mind or complain. Your rights under Swedish consumer law always apply in full. Nothing here takes them away.

Prices

All prices are in Swedish kronor (SEK) and are the prices you pay for the piece itself.

VATPrices shown are what you pay; VAT details are added once the seller's VAT status is confirmed.

Shipping is 79 kr per order and is shown, together with the full total, before you pay. There are no other fees from us.

If a price on the site is obviously wrong, say a bowl listed at 7 kr instead of 700 kr, we'll contact you before sending anything, and you can choose to buy at the right price or cancel for a full refund.

03

Ordering

Most pieces are one of a kind. When you tap Buy, the piece is held for you for 30 minutes while you pay. Your purchase is confirmed, and the contract is made, when your payment goes through. You'll see your order page straight away. Save its link: it's where you follow your order.

If two people pay for the last piece at almost the same moment and we can't fulfil your order, we'll tell you straight away and refund the full amount, shipping included, within 14 days.

The photos show the actual piece or one from the same batch. Because everything is thrown and glazed by hand, small differences in colour, speckle and size are part of the work, not faults.

04

Payment

Payments are handled by Stripe, a licensed payment provider. We never see or store your card details. You pay in full when you place the order. Depending on your phone and browser, you can choose:

  • Swish
  • Card
  • Klarna
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

Apple Pay and Google Pay appear only on devices that support them. If you choose Klarna, Klarna's own terms apply to paying later or in parts, and Klarna will show them before you confirm.

With Swish, you approve the payment in the Swish app. If it isn't approved within a few minutes, nothing is charged and you can simply try again or pick another method.

The piece is our responsibility until it reaches you. If it arrives broken, take a photo of the piece and the box and contact us within a few days; our contact details appear in section 1 once the shop has finished setting up. We'll replace it if we can, or refund you in full, shipping included.

06

Your right to change your mind

In shortYou have 14 days from the day you receive your parcel to withdraw from the purchase, no reason needed.

Under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (distansavtalslagen) you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. The 14 days start the day after you, or someone you name, receive the goods. If day 14 falls on a weekend or public holiday, you have until the next working day.

The clock starts the next day.

  4. Within 14 daysYou get your money back

Counted from the day you told us.

How to withdraw

Send us a clear statement that you want to withdraw by using the “Withdraw from contract here” button on your order page. You reach your order page from the “Your order page” button shown after you pay, and you don't need an account.

It's enough that you use the button before the 14 days run out. Your order page then shows the date and time we received it.

When the right doesn't apply

Pieces made to your own specification, for example a commissioned set with your initials or a glaze you chose for an order, can't be returned under the right of withdrawal. We'll always tell you before you pay if a piece is made to order.

07

Sending a piece back

Send the piece back to the address in section 1 no later than 14 days after you told us you're withdrawing. You pay the return postage. As a guide, a small parcel within Sweden costs about 70–120 kr depending on size and carrier.

  • Pack it well. Stoneware travels safely in its original box with the paper wrapping it came in. A piece that breaks because it was packed loosely may lower the refund.
  • Use a tracked service and keep the receipt, so you can show the parcel was sent on time.
  • Handle it as you would in a shop. You're welcome to unwrap, hold and look at the piece. If it has been used (washed, eaten from, filled with flowers) and is worth less as a result, we may deduct that loss from your refund.
08

Refunds

We refund everything you paid, including the original 79 kr shipping, no later than 14 days after the day we receive your withdrawal. We may wait to send the money until the piece is back with us, or until you've shown us proof that you've sent it, whichever comes first.

The money goes back the way you paid: to the same Swish number, the same card, or as an adjustment to your Klarna purchase. There's no fee for the refund. How quickly it shows up on your side depends on your bank or Klarna, usually within 5–10 working days.

09

Standard withdrawal form

This is the standard form from Konsumentverket, the Swedish Consumer Agency. Using it is optional; any clear message works. Until contact details appear in section 1, use the button on your order page instead.

Faults and complaints

In shortIf something was wrong with your piece when it arrived, you can complain for up to 3 years.

Under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen) you can complain about a fault (reklamera) for three years from the day you received the piece, as long as the fault existed when it was delivered. If a fault shows up within two years, it's assumed to have been there from the start unless we can show otherwise.

Tell us within a reasonable time after you notice the fault; within two months always counts as on time. Send us a short description and a photo or two; our contact details appear in section 1 once the shop has finished setting up.

Depending on the fault, we'll offer a replacement if a matching piece exists, a price reduction, or a full refund, and we pay the cost of sending a faulty piece back. A cracked glaze that leaks, a hairline crack through the clay or a chipped rim on arrival are faults. Natural variation that you could see in the photos (speckle, glaze pooling, a slightly uneven hand-trimmed rim) is not.

If we can't agree

Please talk to us first; our contact details appear in section 1 once the shop has finished setting up. If we still can't agree, you can take the matter to the National Board for Consumer Disputes, free of charge. We follow its recommendations.

Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one shown on this page when you paid.

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Nothing in them limits the rights you have as a consumer under Swedish law.
